Hair EXTENSIONS

The amount of time your extensions will last between services depends on a few factors:

1. The type of extensions you have and the method of install
2. Your hair type
3. How fast your hair grows

Tape-in extensions usually need to be moved up about every 4-6 weeks. The tape will degrade faster if you wash more frequently or use a lot of heat styling tools.

Hand-tied weft extensions (Ottalaus recommended) can last between 6-10 weeks depending on the method of install, how fast your hair grows, and how well you care for your extensions.

Thin hair can have a slightly higher risk for extension "slipping" and more frequent shampooing or aggressive styling can cause the time between move-ups to be shortened. Always follow the advice of your stylist for proper care to ensure the longest lasting results. You'll want to make sure you are using the best products for extensions as well to extend the life of the hair.

Ottalaus stylists generally recommend sew-in hand-tied weft extensions as the most natural looking, and hair and scalp friendly extension method.

Owner AnneMarie Krainich has developed her own method of install that has longer lasting results and clients experience far less scalp pain and irritation with her method. Breakage of natural hair is lessened and the wefts sit nicely against the scalp for natural flow and blending.
